Inventory Locations

Overview

Inventory locations are used to track inventory quantities accross different places (e.g. buildings, storerooms, shelves…).  To access inventory locations click the gear icon at the top right, then click "Lists" in the left menu and then click "Inventory Locations" in the left menu. To sort list of inventory locations click on the column header name for the criteria you want to sort by.  To filter the list of inventory locations click on the "Filters" button, select filters and click "Save" and to remove filters click the "Reset" button.

Adding inventory locations

To add inventory locations complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right
  2. Click on "Lists" in the left menu
  3. Click on "Inventory Locations" in the left menu
  4. Click on the "+ New Location" button above the list of inventory locations
  5. Enter inventory location name
  6. Click the "Save" or the "Save + New" button at the bottom of the form   

Editing inventory locations

To edit inventory locations complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right
  2. Click on "Lists" in the left menu
  3. Click on "Inventory Locations" in the left menu
  4. Click on the inventory location that you want to edit
  5. Click on the "Edit" button
  6. Make changes and then click on the "Save" or "Save + New" button at the bottom of the form

Deleting inventory locations

Users can delete inventory locations one at a time or in bulk.

To delete inventory locations one at a time complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right
  2. Click on "Lists" in the left menu
  3. Click on "Inventory Locations" in the left menu
  4. Click on the inventory location that you want to delete
  5. Click on the "More" button
  6. Click on "Delete" in the dropdown

To delete inventory locations in bulk complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right
  2. Click on "Lists" in the left menu
  3. Click on "Inventory Locations" in the left menu
  4. Click on the checkbox to the left of "Location" for each inventory location that you want to delete
  5. Click on the "More" button
  6. Click on "Delete" in the dropdown

Note that inventory locations that are tied to transactions cannot be deleted.

Making inventory locations active or inactive

Users can make inventory locations active or inactive one at a time or in bulk.

To make inventory locations active or inactive one at a time complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right
  2. Click on "Lists" in the left menu
  3. Click on "Inventory Locations" in the left menu
  4. Click on the inventory location that you want to make active or inactive
  5. Click on the "More" button
  6. Click on "Active" or "Inactive" in the dropdown

To make inventory locations active or inactive in bulk complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right
  2. Click on "Lists" in the left menu
  3. Click on "Inventory Locations" in the left menu
  4. Click on the checkbox to the left of "Location" for each inventory location that you want to make active or inactive
  5. Click on the "More" button
  6. Click on "Active" or "Inactive" in the dropdown
